Do You Accept Medicare?

Yes we do! Medicare beneficiaries make up about 30-40% of our caseload.

Do You Accept Private Insurance?

Summit Physical Therapy & Performance is an out-of-network provider. This means that clients pay for care at the beginning of each session (see fees below) and we provide you a receipt for all sessions which you can easily submit for partial reimbursement from your insurance company directly. If you’d like us to check your out-of-network benefits, please click here and fill out the form provided. We’ll happily contact your insurance company and give you an estimate of what you can expect to be reimbursed based on your specific plan details.

What are your fees?

60 minute 1:1 evaluation with your physical therapist: $165

55 minute 1:1 treatment session with your physical therapist: $135

Do you offer packages?

Yes we do. Packages can be purchased for the following rates:

5 pack session: $625

10 pack session: $1,150

Discounted sessions are available for military members, police officers, first responders and teachers.

Fees do not apply to Medicare beneficiaries.

Is there a cancellation fee?

Cancellations within 24 hours will incur a $75 fee. Cancellations within 1 hour or a no-show will incur a $100 fee or forfeiting of the session if you are using a package deal.

Do you use techs, aides, or any assistants during therapy sessions?

We do not. Every session is 1:1 just you and your therapist.

Do I Need a Referral for Physical Therapy?

Not in Maryland. We are a “Direct Access” state, meaning you can go to a physical therapist without a referral or prescription.

What do Physical Therapists Do?

Our care is always individualized to your specific needs, medical history and goals. Generally speaking…every patient will start by having a thorough evaluation by your therapist. Afterwards, your PT will discuss with you their findings as well as what they believe the most effective plan of care will be for you. Most plans of care will start by using a variety of hands-on techniques to help decrease your pain and improve your immediate well-being. Alongside these hands-on techniques, we will incorporate targeted exercises and movements to help your body improve. As your body heals, you’ll become more independent until you reach the point where you no longer need us. At that time, it’s our hope that you’ll have all the tools and know-how needed to keep your body healthy on your own.

How Long Does Physical Therapy Take?

It always depends. We have patients that come see us because they just need some information on how to help their body heal and they want to take it from there. Some people are in high levels of pain and need to see us 2-3x/week before tapering down to seeing us 1x/week. Some patients see us once a month or even less frequently than that. What I can assure you is that during your evaluation, your therapist will have a discussion with you about what they found and what will likely be the best plan of action moving forward. Following this, and taking into consideration your schedule, your finances, your goals and desires for care, together you will find a plan that works for you.

What do I Wear to Physical Therapy?

Comfortable clothing that allows the physical therapist to see and examine the area and surrounding areas of concern. For example, if you are coming in for…

Knee pain: don’t wear tight leggings that don’t allow you to roll them up to your mid-thigh.  Shorts or loose leggings would be perfect. 

Shoulder pain: T-shirt for males and females. Females, please wear a sports bra underneath your T-shirt if possible. 

Hip Pain: Same as knee pain, shorts, or loose pants/leggings.

Back Pain: Comfortable clothing that can be rolled up or adjusted so that the therapist can examine the area of concern.
